Marcus founded CO2 YOU in 2021 after he got frustrated with lugging CO2 cylinders home for his sparkling water machine and throwing the empty cylinders away.
As a consumer, he wanted something more convenient, hassle-free, and sustainable but nothing existed. That’s when he decided he’d build something better, much better.
Right from the start Marcus knew the problems he wanted to solve. That’s why we deliver cylinders to our customer’s doorsteps, we collect their empty ones in the same visit and we refill cylinders after use.
CO2 YOU is now in tens of thousands of homes and businesses across the UK. Marcus’ vision is to grow CO2 YOU into the world’s leading hydration business, making convenience and sustainability easier than ever before.

Our first 1,000 cylinders sell out.

CO2 YOU hits 3,000 refill customers, and our CO₂ refilling centre is built in Chelmsford.
2023
The service launches in Ireland.
2024
Marcus makes his first hire — Lissie, as Founder's Associate — as the business grows beyond 10,000 members.

CO2 YOU moves into its first office.
2025
Identity crisis! CO2 YOU rebrands to the Bubbly Blue we all know and love.

Our sparkling water machine gets a glow-up: The Bubbla launches.

The Refill Programme hits 30,000 lifetime members.

CO2 YOU moves into its own office space in London Bridge, doubling up as a distribution warehouse for London customers.

We launch our own delivery system for London, with a fleet of electric Bubble Bikes.
